Camilla Hitchcock LRAD ARAD

School Principal and Ballet teacher.

Qualifications:  RAD Ballet grades and teaching Diploma LRAD ARAD

Camilla began her classical training with Letty Littlewood at The Associated Arts School in Wimbledon.

She trained further with Dame Merle Park and Shirley Grahame.

Camilla gained Distinction in all her ballet, tap and modern examinations at The Arts Educational schools in the Barbican. In 1989 she went to the Royal Academy of Dance to study ballet teaching. She gained her advanced ballet and LRAD and become a licentiate of the Academy in 1991.

Camilla established First Steps Academy in 1993 and has grown the school to be a happy vibrant place where all children enjoy dance whether for fun or seroius dance training.

Camilla holds 100% pass rate in children's RAD ballet examinations and has over 30 years experience of teaching children Dance.

Nicola Leftwich

Monday’s Grades 3 /4 /7 RAD syllabus

Nicola was a professional ballerina touring the world with classical companies including The European Dance Company, Vienna Festival Ballet and Wiener Ballet Theatre. Her solo roles include The Nutcracker, Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, Les Sylphides and Giselle.

She toured with Bolshoi Ballet star Stanislav Tschassov, partnering him in the White Swan and the pas de deux from The Nutcracker. She also appeared at the Edinburgh Film Festival with modern dance company Reanimators. Nicola has choreographed for various dance shows touring Australia. She has been teaching childrens ballet for over 30yrs.

First Degree in BA Music and Musical Theatre
1 Year Intensive Diploma in Musical Theatre at Associated Studios
NATD Trained Ballet, Tap & Modern
Demolition Street Dance Troupe Member.

Becca is a professional performer and dance teacher. She completed her Bachelor of Arts degree in Music and Musical Theatre at the University of Chichester in 2017 then continued her studies at Associated Studios completing the Intensive Diploma in Musical Theatre. 

Becca has studied a variety of dance styles from a young age, completing grades under the National Associates of Teachers of Dance. She has appeared in festivals and events throughout the South West. She has taught in a variety of dance and performing arts schools across the UK and Europe.

Becca is a registered teacher for The International Performing Arts & Theatre (I-PATH) and assistant choreographer for Peter Pan at Hounslow Arts Theatre and numerous Pantomine productions. 

Alongside Miss Kathleen, she recently produced First Steps Academy production of Alice in Wonderland, which combined all Jazz, Musical Theatre, Drama and Tap classes.
