Uniform Requirements

At First Steps our classes from Nursery level up to Grade 8 ballet have specific uniform requirements that are part of the schools rules.

The school uniform guidelines must be adhered to at all times. Grooming is an essential part of the performing arts and your child should be correctly presented for each class that they attend.

New starters, and those coming to trial classes, can come dressed in clothes they are comfortable moving around in. The uniform may be purchased directly from the school or from other leading dance-wear providers online.

Uniform

Nursery, Pre-Primary and Primary Levels

Our Nursery, Pre-Primary and Primary level dancers wear Lilac RAD leotard and lilac tulip skirt pink ballet socks and shoes. All uniform is available to order through our school reception.
Uniform

Grade 1 to Grade 5 Ballet

Dancers working through Grades 1- 5 wear navy Royal Academy of Dance leotards, pink ballet tights and pink ballet shoes.
Uniform

Grades 1-5 Ballet Character Skirts & Shoes

Dancers working through Grades 1- 5 are also required to wear character skirts and character shoes for certain dance pieces.
Uniform

Grades 6-8 Ballet

Our Grade 6/7/8 pupils are allowed to wear any style of black leotard with pink tights and pink ballet shoes. Pointe shoes should be purchased from Freed of London or Bloch in Covent Garden.
